#MarchMeetTheMaker asks "How did you get started?" đÂ
I had just had my youngest daughter and had become a stay at home mom in a new city and I was looking for a creative outlet and something that might allow me to earn extra money from home.Â
I have always loved caricatures and had several of our little family. Al Hirschfeld was a huge influence on me as he made it look so simple 'tho it was far from it.Â
I also started learning how to decorative paint from Priscilla Houser via HGTV and her books â¤â¤â¤ Then I started learning about stained glass from an artist who has since retired but who created portraits on stained glass and other magnificent works of art đđđ And my imagination then took over!
I started painting florals on glass and added caricatures and Crystal Peace was born. That was in 2000 and I made it official in September 2001. I initially sold on ebay and high end boutiques in SoCal and then opened a shop on Etsy serving brides and grooms and wedding planners.
It has been 18 years of creating thousands of caricature art pieces, being featured as the #1 #coolgroomsmengift on a wide variety of wedding sites and countless other opportunities. This year I am focusing on expanding my illustration art portfolio, and I can't wait to show you what's coming đ Onward and upward!Â
